Bailan Beach Koh Chang
What is Bailan Beach Like?
As Lonely Beach has become somewhat less lonely Bailan Beach has become a haven of peace and quiet for people who like things to be even calmer. There are a few simple backpacker spots but also some more luxurious places and even one five star hotel. Bailan’s beach is quite short and fairly rocky although there is some sand protected by a breakwater on the stretch in front of the Mercure Resort and, as is usually the case with Koh Chang, the views are great.
There isn’t much infrastructure although there are bars and restaurants at the resorts and also a few good places to eat and drink on the road. There is an internet caf? and bookshop near the bridge and a Thai cooking school nearby.
In and amongst the jungle rising from the South end of Bailan beach is the Treetop Adventure Park. Here you can climb along specially constructed walkways between the forest trees negotiating rope slides and other challenges. You can try either the easy or the expert route depending on how you’re equipped with regard to fitness and/or vertigo.
