Chang Buri Resort & Spa has two hotel blocks on both sides of the main road. It is a couple of minutes from the beach but there are two swimming pools and the waterfront one offers a great panorama down the beach.

KC Grande Resort & Spa.

The ever expanding KC Grande is in the process of building another hotel block on the hill side of the road. Their current rooms include a three story hotel block and lots of luxury bungalows that sit slap bang on a huge stretch of beach.

Koh Chang Kacha is another large beachside hotel on White Sands. They offer beachside bungalows or rooms in a new and luxurious hotel block.

Paddy’s Palms Resort
Agoda Rating – 7.5/10
The Rooms at Paddy’s Palms Resort offer some of the best value on White Sand Beach. The Resort is located behind Paddy’s Palms Irish Pub on the way up the hill out of White Sand Beach. There is car parking (a rarity for White Sand Beach) and the rooms are located in two low-rise blocks beside a nice pool garden with great views of the mountain behind.

15 Palms Hotel
15 Palms is an island institution and has been serving customers on the sand at White Sand Beach since 1999. They have recently undergone a major expansion which has seen the addition of a swimming pool and some nice new mezzanine rooms with amazing views out over the sea.

Buffalo Bill Hotel

Buffalo Bills is, of course, a western themed steakhouse – complete with all kinds of period flavour including a small jail, Jesse james’s gravestone and a ride-it-if-you-dare mechanical bull – it’s a lot of fun.
There are 12 large hotel rooms at Bills located on the second and third floors above the restaurant.
The rooms are reasonably priced mid-range air-con hotel rooms and one of the best value options in White Sands that puts you just 30 seconds away from the beachfront.

Rock Sand Resort

Everywhere you read about claims to be unique. Rock Sand Resort, however is a unique place to visit and stay. It perches on top of the one rocky outcrop that divides White Sand Beach into its busy Southern and quiet Northern sections. So, as you’d imagine, the views are great. There is no road access either so you need to walk about 400 metres down the beach to get there. All of this means peace and quiet.
The rooms at Rock Sand Resort all perch on the hillside and so they all have great views out to sea. The rooms range in style from simple bungalows with fan and shower to bigger air-conditioned family suites so there’s a range of comfort to suit nearly everyone.

Tantawan Bungalow
Tantawan Resort lies right on the sand in the center of White Sand Beach – a great location by anyone’s standards. They are a popular and long established mid-range bungalow resort and have good rooms and a popular bar and restaurant.
Tantawan Resort offers two types of room. They have simple clean and basic aircon bungalows and also some good Thai-style, pointy roofed bungalows that are all done out in wood and have good large balconies at the front. Their prices are reasonable and the location is superb.

White Sand Beach is 2 km north, while Chai Chet Beach is 1 km south of the property.

Elephant & Castle

This popular garden resort is in a tranquil but central location in Pearl Beach, close to all the busiest beaches. It is close to shops and restaurants and there are good sea views. It earns great reviews both for it’s accommodation and for the friendliness of the host. Rooms Elephant & Castle have just seven bungalows, all but one with aircon.

Located up on the road three or four minutes walk from the beach this mid-priced boutique resort has interesting modern design and a swimming pool.

Klong Prao Resort
This is a large low-rise resort built around a large swirl of lagoon that opens onto the beach at its quiter end.

Koh Chang Paradise Resort
This place has bungalows beside the sand and a small hotel block. Friends of ours who have stayed there have told us that they were impressed.

Koh Chang Resort & Spa
This place has been around for a long time (don’t worry – they have rebuilt during that time). They offer good rooms and facilities in an absolute beachfront location.
Coconut Beach Resort has nice new rooms with a pool beside the beach.

2 Star & Below

Pajamas Hostel

Pajamas is a great example of the concept of a luxury hostel done well. it may be a hostel but forget about the old youth hostel model – here you get a swimming pool, lots of communal space and aircon dorm rooms of varying size so you can book a room amongst four friends or stay in a larger dorm. And if you want to stick with convention and book a private double room they offer that as well.

Emerald Cove Resort
The attractive and efficiently-managed Emerald Cove Resort serves as something of benchmark for Koh Chang Hotel standards. They have all the facilities that you’d expect – including a larger than olympic sized pool – right next to the sand of Klong Prao Beach.

Centara Koh Chang Tropicana Resort & Spa
This is another good top-end option beside the beach. Their rooms are all bungalows and they include a Japanese restaurant as well as the almost obligatory Spa amongst their facilities.

Iyara Resort & Spa
This place has good value bungalows just across from the temple in Klong Prao village. It is a few minutes walk from the sand but on the other hand you are in a quiet but central close to all kinds of restaurants and bars.

This guesthouse is located on Soi Vorvan in Klong Prao. They both face the river where it meets the sea and the views are spectacular. Rooms all have aircon and TV.

Gaja Puri Resort
This is an attractive waterfront resort with few enough rooms to class itself as a boutique hotel.

Chang Park Resort & Spa
sits on a good stretch of Kai Bae beach. It is set in spacious gardens that contain peacocks that dart in and out of all the tropical foliage.

3 Star & Below

The Garden Resort
Booking.com Rating – 8.9/10
The Garden Resort pulls off a pretty nice trick, you see it’s smack in the center of Kai Bae village but is located in its own enclosed little garden so it manages to be both private and quiet.
The have nice mid-ranged hotel rooms and there’s a swimming pool. It ranks highly with booking websites and rightly so – we recommend it as a great upper-mid-range option.

This new boutique bungalow resort in Kai Bae village is set 100 metres behind the main road. It’s close to the action but away from the noise, ideal really.
Bann Chomdaew have just five newly built, well appointed bungalows set in a large grassy garden full of flowers. All rooms are aircon and have fridge, TV, hot shower etc.

It occupies a long stretch of sandy beachfront at the northern end of Lonely Beach and is one the more luxurious places to stay in what was traditionally a traveller’s beach. Away Koh Kood Resort is a good mid-range resort located by the sea at the mouth of the river that leads to Koh Kood’s waterfall.

The Soneva Kiri is a super high-end Resort with just 27 rooms and six star facilities. It ain’t cheap but why not treat yourselves.

Koh Wai

Koh Wai Green Resort

Koh Wai is a small island lying between Koh Chang and Koh Mak and Koh Kood to teh south and it is one of the prettiest little islands in the whole of the Koh Chang archipelago. Koh Wai Green Resort (formerly named Koh Wai Pakarang Resort) is a great choice for a relaxing and chilled out holiday.
